I purchased the shaggy angora goat on the wood mount for a gift for my neice. Loved how the wood grain comes through on the print. Excellent purchase! Would definitely purchase again.

This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

Artist's Description

The title refers to the name of the village in Ohio which is home to our old family farm. The land and the structures themselves don't really look much like this painting, but they are, nevertheless, the inspiration for this work, and many memories. The technique of painting one line at a time, while letting each one dry before painting the next, came from the days of drawing with dual-tip brush pens. It takes some time, but, ironically, the effect is less predictable, particularly in the sky. In other words, with a "wash," one has a good idea right away of the flow and fell of the sky, within second, in fact. Doing the lines, on the other hand, leads me into the unknown, but takes days to unfold. I never know all the twists and turns, or even all the color variations, until the sky is nearly done.

While drawing with his daughter Sara one afternoon, Kirby was suddenly compelled to continue into the night and following days, being bombarded by mental images which demanded expression. Weeks turned into months, and drawing turned into painting, all scenes rooted in a long relationship with...
